Performance-based Pay

Central Oregon Truck Company offers the best pay package in the nation for quality drivers who wish to be individually rewarded for their performance and accomplishments. Driver safety and performance are our priorities and we reward them very well. Our pay package allows quality professionals to earn over $65,000 annually. A newly hired quality driving teammate can earn between $0.34 to $0.36 per mile plus accessorial pay, that same quality driving teammate can effectively earn up to an additional $0.10 per mile Performance Pay! That is before we include the value of any company-provided benefits. Why would you work anywhere else?

How Do we Do It?

First of all, we keep freight in front of our driving team members at all times. We believe that a truck sitting and waiting for a load is a failure on our part and we simply don’t tolerate it. The result is less waiting, more miles, and more pay for our driving team.

Next, we offer a performance-based pay structure that begins with a generous per-mile base rate. To that we add monthly performance pay for safety compliance, production, vehicle & equipment care and fuel-efficiency. Following 60 days of employment we include vacation on a pay-as-you-go system. After that, we throw in additional accessorial pay at some of the best rates in the industry. We pay $30 for each tarp required, $20 for each and every drop or pick after the first, $100 layover pay, and some truly incredible recruiting pay that can pay you up to $500 for every single quality driving teammate you recruit to work here! We also pay Canada crossing pay, safety meeting pay and orientation training pay! The results speak for themselves: Seasoned efficient driving teammate here at COTC can earn over $0.48 per mile before adding in their accessorial pay and benefits.

Our professional driving teammates don’t wait around for their money either, they receive their pay weekly based on delivered loads. This is unheard of in the industry, and the results are one of the busiest fleets in the country with some of the highest net driver pay anywhere!

But it doesn’t end there; our driving team makes the most of our exceptional pay package through flexible spending accounts, which they can fund up to $2,500 per year before any tax withholdings to cover out-of-pocket medical expenses. And because we know our team members can’t drive forever, we also provide a generous employer matching contribution to drivers who participate in our 401(k) retirement plan.
